This gorgeous Gretsch Duo Jet for the first year of this model (1953). Early production features the rare script logo, a chambered mahogany body, Melita bridge, two D'Armond pickups. The top is made from Nitron plastic drum material to achieve the black finish, rather than paint. The serial number can be found inscribed on the back plate.
Overall, this guitar is in great shape with limited overall wear and a small amount of buckle wear on the back. The frets are in great shape with plenty of life left. The binding on this guitar doesn't suffer from the usual Gretsch binding rot. This guitar comes with the original hardshell tweed case.
