A note to you regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from your friends at Well Strung Guitars:
We here at the shop care deeply about our community and wish all our player and collector friends dealing with this dreaded virus the best of health for themselves as well as their loved ones.
Due to the current risks associated with the spreading and contraction of COVID-19,
Well Strung Guitars has decided that until March 31,2020 we will not be open to retail traffic except for repairs which can be dropped off or picked up using our side entrance. We will still be conducting business as usual via phone, email, and at wellstrungguitars.com
We will also be shipping and receiving guitars Tues-Friday. Please make note that for your safety, all guitars to be shipped will have been wiped down with a non- harmful sanitizing wipe that will NOT harm the guitar. Saturday hours are suspended for now.
We we still be buying, but by appointment only, so please call first. We will reassess at the end of March and will advise you of our plans to reopen or remain closed until we feel we are all safe.
Thank you for understanding.
David, Paige and the staff at Davidson's Well Strung Guitars.
This gorgeous Gretsch Duo Jet for the first year of this model (1953). Early production features the rare script logo, a chambered mahogany body, Melita bridge, two D'Armond pickups. The top is made from Nitron plastic drum material to achieve the black finish, rather than paint. The serial number can be found inscribed on the back plate. Our tech just did a professional neck reset that is so good it's hard to even tell. Now the neck angle is fantastic and the guitar plays great!
Overall, this guitar is in great shape with limited overall wear and a small amount of buckle wear on the back. The frets are in great shape with plenty of life left. The binding on this guitar doesn't suffer from the usual Gretsch binding rot. This guitar comes with the original hardshell tweed case.
If you have any questions, please give us a call at 516-221-0563. We'd be happy to give you an in-hand description of the guitar. All of our guitars are properly set up by John Bertsche, our brilliant guitar tech, and will be professionally packed with care.
