This gorgeous Gretsch Duo Jet for the first year of this model (1953). Early production features the rare script logo, a chambered mahogany body, Melita bridge, two D'Armond pickups. The top is made from Nitron plastic drum material to achieve the black finish, rather than paint. The serial number can be found inscribed on the back plate. Our tech just did a professional neck reset that is so good it's hard to even tell. Now the neck angle is fantastic and the guitar plays great!
Overall, this guitar is in great shape with limited overall wear and a small amount of buckle wear on the back. The frets are in great shape with plenty of life left. The binding on this guitar doesn't suffer from the usual Gretsch binding rot. This guitar comes with the original hardshell tweed case.
If you have any questions, please give us a call at 516-221-0563. We'd be happy to give you an in-hand description of the guitar. All of our guitars are properly set up by John Bertsche, our brilliant guitar tech, and will be professionally packed with care.
