The Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar debuted in late 1953 as the top-of-the-line Les Paul model. Our 1955 model conforms to all the features of this iconic guitar. It features a P-90 bridge pickup and an Alnico V neck pickup. Unlike the Les Paul Goldtop, which had a mahogany body with a maple top, the Custom was all mahogany. The fingerboard on the Custom is ebony and sports the original “fretless wonder” frets. It also features a bound top and back, with block inlays, and a 5-piece split diamond headstock pearl inlay. All the hardware is gold plated.
This example is in remarkable condition for a 65 yer old, but is not ready for retirement…this one’s ready to rock!
All aspects of this guitar function as intended and it still retains its original black case (gold interior).
If you have any questions, please give us a call at 516-221-0563. We'd be happy to give you an in-hand description of the guitar. All of our guitars are properly set up by John Bertsche, our brilliant guitar tech, and will be professionally packed with care.
Upon receipt, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you must notify WSG within 24 hours. We will refund your money as soon as the merchandise is returned to us in the same condition as when it shipped out. The customer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and bank fees that may be incurred throughout the return process. All returns must be packaged in the same materials that the guitar was sent out to ensure the safety of the instrument. All claims regarding loss or damage are the responsibility of the purchaser.
