Here we have a stunning 1962 Fender Stratocaster in original Fiesta Red! The early 60s saw a few changes from Fender’s manufacturing process. In an effort to save money and conserve wood, Fender started producing necks with a “veneer” of rosewood for the fretboard, instead of a thicker “slab” style. This particular example has the more desirable “slab” board, with clay dot inlays that have aged beautifully. The neck has a comfortable C profile, with plenty of fret life left! The Fiesta Red finish on this guitar is particularly vibrant, and the wonderful aging shows some of the Desert Sand undercoat. It also feels and sounds fantastic with its three well balanced single coil pickups!
It weighs in at 7 lbs and 6 oz, and comes with original Fender case and guitar strap.
If you have any questions, please give us a call at 516-221-0563. We'd be happy to give you an in-hand description of the guitar. All of our guitars are properly set up by John Bertsche, our brilliant guitar tech, and will be professionally packed with care.
