A remarkable 1963 Gibson SG Standard in original Cherry finish! This piece is in gorgeous shape, with very little wear of any kind! The SG shape was introduced in 1961, but still went by the “Les Paul” branding until early 1963. As you can see on this guitar, “Les Paul” is engraved on the truss rod cover! We also have a photo of the original owner from back in the day with this very guitar! The neck profile is a nice full C carve, which fits incredibly comfortable in the hand. The bridge is fitted with nylon saddles, common for the time from Gibson to help eliminate any excessive top end. Two beautifully voiced pickups give this guitar a rich, powerful tone, with a 7.92K in the bridge and 8.75K in the neck position. The Lyre Vibrola adds another layer of versatility to this already incredible instrument!
It weighs in at 7 lbs 8 oz, and comes with original Gibson catalog, photo of original owner, Gibson strings, and original hardshell case.
If you have any questions, please give us a call at 516-221-0563. We'd be happy to give you an in-hand description of the guitar. All of our guitars are properly set up by John Bertsche, our brilliant guitar tech, and will be professionally packed with care.
Upon receipt, if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, you must notify WSG within 24 hours. We will refund your money as soon as the merchandise is returned to us in the same condition as when it shipped out.
