A gorgeous all original 1971 Fender Stratocaster in rare Firemist Gold Metallic! Firemist Gold replaced Shoreline Gold in 1965, and was used as a custom color until it was discontinued in the early 70s. This guitar also has a great story about its original owner! The guitar was custom ordered in 1970 by Buffalo based Blues guitarist, Robert “Count Rabbit” Robinson! In 1959, Robinson had a national hit with the song, “Why Did You Go,” recorded with Eugene Washington as “Robert and Gino.” The clear coat on the body has gracefully aged over the years producing a rich, smoky shade of gold with beautiful checking throughout. The neck on this example features a maple cap, and larger CBS headstock. The frets are in phenomenal shape, with plenty of life remaining.
It weighs in 7 lbs and 11 oz, and comes with the original strap, cord, and Fender case.
