A striking 1972 Fender Thinline Telecaster (Series II) in Candy Apple Red! 1972 was the first year for the second series of the Thinline Tele line, which saw some changes such as the addition of two humbucking pickups. These new pickups were known as “CuNiFe” pickups, and were designed by none other than, now Fender employee, Seth Lover. The pickups deliver crisp clarity, and in this example are measured at 10.28K in the bridge, and 9.82K in the neck position. Combined with the hollow body, this guitar really does ring like a bell! This guitar also features the then newly implemented 3 bolt neckplate with the micro-tilt feature. The neck profile is a nice medium C carve, with comfortably low action and plenty of fret life left! The overall finish is in fine shape, with some signs of use and the expected finish checking.
It weighs in at 7 lbs and comes with original hardshell Fender case.
